Innovation in Education

We’re transforming education to better reflect the way our students will engage in the world beyond high school.

In 1971, our founders re-envisioned education. They realized—far ahead of their time—the importance of incorporating experiential learning with intellectual development.

Since then, we have continued to evolve a non-siloed educational model that centers on authentic and relevant issues that affect individuals and society. Here are a few of the many ways that MA continues to push the boundaries of educational excellence.

Biology beyond book learning

When given the opportunity to use a creative way to demonstrate their understanding of advanced biology, two students created the “Reef Protector Game,” an interactive way for players to protect coral reefs from human threats like oil spills and ocean acidification. Boundary-blurring projects like these require students to conduct in-depth research in an academic topic for the best creative (and fun!) outcome.
