Support MA

Something is coming. Something BIG.

On May 15, our community will celebrate our third annual MA Giving Day by raising support for the people and programs of MA. YOU - alumni, parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, and students – are encouraged to make your gift on Giving Day and share your reason why on social media, email, and even text. Help us spread the word on FacebookTwitter, Instagram, and beyond!

In year one, we surpassed our goal of 100 gifts; year two saw us topple our goal of 200 gifts. This year, we need your help to smash through our goal of 300 gifts in 24 hours. Together, we can do this!!!

All gifts made on Giving Day go directly and immediately to the Annual Fund and the students, faculty, and programs it supports. In honor of our third year, here are three reasons why YOU make all the difference:

  1. Every gift counts. Contributions of all sizes fund a life-changing education.
  2. MA’s community is at the core of what makes it a special place. It is YOUR support that provides increased opportunities for MA’s students and faculty alike.
  3. MA wouldn’t be MA without YOU. You help shape the school through your support and by sharing with your friends.

Join in today and show your support for #OneDayOneMA!

List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • What is Giving Day?

MA’s Giving Day is 24 hours devoted to raising support for MA. On May 15, 2019, we hope to inspire at least 300 people from our community of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to make philanthropic gifts to MA’s Annual Fund. We’ll share lots of fun videos and other content by email and social media. We also hope to hear from you about your reasons for supporting MA, and invite you to share your MA stories via social media (you can email us, too!).

  • Where does my gift go?

Gifts made on Giving Day will benefit all of the people and programs that make MA so special via the Annual Fund, including our incredible faculty, tuition assistance, academics, outings, athletics, and the arts. You may choose to direct your gift to a specific program touched by the Annual Fund or honor a particular staff, faculty or coach who has made an impact on you or your loved ones. All gifts, regardless of the amount, will make an immediate difference to the entire MA community.

  • How can I make sure that my gift is counted towards Giving Day?

All gifts made on May 15, 2019 will count toward Giving Day. You can make your gift online or over the phone by calling (415) 482-3333. If you would like to mail in a check before May 15 to be counted toward Giving Day, it must be received no later than May 15 and you must write “Giving Day” in the memo section. Mail checks to Marin Academy, c/o Advancement Office, 1600 Mission Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901. To make a gift of securities to be counted toward Giving Day, please email tconroy@ma.org.

If you have already supported the Annual Fund this year, THANK YOU! We encourage you to consider an additional nominal gift on Giving Day, as only contributions made on this day count toward our goal of 300 gifts.

  • How can I make my gift?

You can contribute online or call (415) 482-3333. You can also visit our Ways To Give page for more information about the different types of gifts accepted by MA.

  • Who can I contact about Giving Day?

You can call MA’s Advancement Office at (415) 482-3333 or email kkennedy@ma.org.

  • How can I help make MA’s Giving Day a success?

Make your gift, and spread the word! Tell your fellow classmates, parents, family, and MA friends that you’ve made a contribution and encourage them to join you in supporting MA. Share your enthusiasm on FacebookTwitter and Instagram using the hashtag #OneDayOneMA. Send an email or pick up the phone. Anything you do to help spread the word will make a big difference in helping us reach our goal of 300 gifts – and, in turn, will magnify the impact of your gift.
