MAPA

The Marin Academy Parents' Association (MAPA) organizes activities and events that provide parents and guardians opportunities to get involved and stay connected with Marin Academy. Our activities enhance school life for students, faculty, staff, parents and the larger community.

A Very Warm Welcome to MAPA!

Each year, MAPA offers a wide variety of opportunities for parents to support the school and students (or community at large) while also getting to know one another. All parents and guardians are automatically a member of the Marin Academy Parents' Association (MAPA). So whether it’s an individual Class Party, a parent hike, family service event, a Parent Education  evening, athletic banquet, or our all-community fundraising event called MA Celebrates, I think you’ll find that MA is an inclusive community filled with many ways to get connected.

Get Involved!

MAPA also depends on your volunteer involvement. We encourage all parents to find a couple of events (or more!) on the MAPA calendar that look interesting to attend, or even better — volunteer! We invite all MA parents and guardians to get involved with the myriad of 75+ events that MAPA coordinates each year! The MAPA calendar includes weekend events scheduled all times of day, weekdays, and weekends so there is a volunteer slot for everyone’s busy schedule. The first step is to fill out the Volunteer Form to communicate your interests and skills. Then, you’ll hear from MAPA event chairs about ways to get involved, which are tailored to you.

Stay Connected!

  • Parents' Quarterly Update meetings are a great way to keep your finger on the pulse of MA. Each meeting features an update from Head of School, Travis Brownley, plus other faculty and staff discuss current happenings on campus.
  • Join us at MA events - There are so many great opportunities to engage with your fellow parents or guardians and the full Marin Academy community that is such an integral part of your student’s life.
  • Make TW@MAthe all-school weekly email newsletter required reading - you’ll be glad you did! TW@MA is where you will find a wealth of information about MA events, calendar updates and more! You can also connect with Marin Academy on Facebook.

High school years go by quickly. Don't wait to get involved in MA's community. Follow the advice you give your children: jump in with both feet!

I look forward to an exciting year together. Please say hello at one of the many events on campus this year, and feel free to contact me via email with any questions or comments.

Warmly,

Sara Byrne

MAPA Outreach and Inclusion

MAPA Parent Outreach and Inclusion works to ensure that Marin Academy Parents Association (MAPA) and the MA parent body is inclusive, open to and welcoming of every MA parent/guardian, by identifying barriers to inclusion and working to eliminate them. Join us for events and education that highlight the diverse families within the MA community.
