Thursday, May 14, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

In this lesson, we will invite folks to participate in a number of mindfulness exercises similar to those experienced in the Human Development curriculum, the 9th-grade Mind, Body, Brain class, and the MA Mindfulness Club. We will also provide a wide range of resources for folks who wish to further pursue the practice. No previous experience with mindfulness is necessary! All are welcome to join us!

This MAster Class is led by Tania Bettis and Mark Stefanski.  Please register here.

2020 Senior Art Exhibition

Friday, May 15

Due to the campus closure, the Visual Arts Department Night of the Arts celebration is canceled. However, we still want to celebrate the senior art students for their dedication and hard work both this year and throughout their time at MA. We will launch a digital exhibition on MA's webpage with representative work from every senior. Keep an eye out for further announcements about the launch and make sure to stop by and see the amazing work by our talented MA seniors!

MAster Class: Downregulation in an Upregulated World

Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom

This Master Class, led by MA English Teacher and Junior Class Dean Mary Collie, will start with some breathwork to quiet your mind and relax your body. Participants will practice breathing into different parts of the abdomen and thoracic spine as a way to exercise the diaphragm and breathe more efficiently. In addition to taking control of the breath, we are going to roll out muscles and high tension spots and start noticing where we hold stress so we can let it go. You'll leave with some tools you can use daily to make sure all this sheltering in place and online living isn't sucking the life out of you. All parents are invited to join.  Register here.

Performing Arts Events

Many of you are wondering, what is happening with the performing arts events this spring?  The dance and music concerts? The theater production?  All of the performing arts classes with cancelled productions have continued to develop material and will share their work in various forms during the Festival of Learning on June 1, 2, and 3.  The exact format and schedule is TBD.  Please look out for more detailed information in the coming weeks!

Virtual Family Community Action Day

Given the shelter in place orders, we will not be able to hold our MA Family Community Action Day on April 19. However, one way we can continue to feel connected is through service, and there are ways we can support our community partner organizations at this time. There are many organizations and individuals in need, and we encourage you to provide support in whatever way you and your family can. We have listed here the requests of some of our closest MA partners.

Voices of MA
