*Annual Fund Volunteers
Outreach: Reach out to fellow parents to raise support for the Annual Fund, which helps bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of an MA education. There will be one evening meeting in the early fall, where you will learn more about the Annual Fund’s importance to MA and you will be given the tools necessary to encourage other MA families to participate. After that, outreach is made at a time and place of your choosing, usually by phone or by email. Annual Fund volunteers play a vital role in providing our students with a one-of-a-kind, phenomenal education. If you enjoy connecting with fellow parents and want to make an impact, join our team today!
Mailings: Occasionally, the advancement office sends out mailings to members of the MA community. This is another opportunity to chat with parents of all grades while you assemble packets to be mailed. Volunteer on an as-needed basis throughout the year.
*Grandparents/Special Friends Day – November 21, 2017
Have an up-close view of this special day which occurs the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. Help distribute schedules and point visitors in the right direction. Photographers are also needed to take pictures of students and their very important guests. Approximately 15 volunteers make this day possible working in 1-2 hour shifts.
*New Parent Dinner – September 7, 2017 (Sophomore parents only)
Help MA welcome parents of Freshmen to the school in early September, especially since you were one last year. Help setup, serve, and clean up a scrumptious dinner. Approximately 25 volunteers make this wonderful evening possible working in 2-4 hour shifts.
*MA Celebrates – April 28, 2018
Market Night is a wonderful evening in April when parents come together to support the school. This is a great opportunity to get involved with the MA community. There are volunteer opportunities in the following categories:
*Apprenticeships - Join this committee to help find exciting apprenticeship opportunities for our students. Approximately 3-4 volunteers are needed to research and secure these unique opportunities.
*Parties and Gatherings – Help brainstorm and develop ideas for fun social gatherings and sign-up parties to be auctioned at the MA Celebrates Gathering. Approximately 3 volunteers needed to work with Megan Wheeler in Advancement.
*Wine – The wine committee is responsible for finding wine for both the auction and the tasting bar. The MA tasting bar is one of a kind and all members of the committee have the opportunity to get behind the bar and serve. This is a wonderful way to get to know fellow members of the MA community that you might not otherwise meet. Approximately 5-6 volunteers needed to work with Megan Wheeler in the Advancement. Members meet twice a month in January, February, and March and once a week in April until the event. The wine committee is also responsible for set up, organization, and break down of the wine tasting bar and auction lots on the day/night of the event.
*Data and Online Auction – This committee is responsible for data entry, bid sheet/detail sheet creation, and online auction management. A great chance to support the event on your own schedule as all entry is done online from your own computer/home. Approximately 3-4 volunteers needed to work 1-2 hours per week beginning in February through the event in April.
*Decorations/Volunteer Management – There are many moving parts to making Market Night the enjoyable party it is. A strong volunteer manager is crucial to the success of the evening. This person will organize and manage all day of/set-up and breakdown of the event. Time Commitment: 5 hours of working with Megan Wheeler in Advancement leading up to the event and 8 hours on the day of the event.
