Thanksgiving Food Drive

Marin Academy’s Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

Marin Academy's Center for Community Action is preparing for our fourth annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. The drive runs from Monday, November 14th through Tuesday, November 21st. Families, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. Last year we collected nearly 3,400 pounds of food including 55 turkeys which were donated to SF-Marin Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul, and Next Generation Scholars. Help us reach our goal of 3,500 pounds and 75 turkeys!

Here's how you can help:

November 13 through 21: Drop off non-perishable food items. Click here to learn about what items are needed most.
November 20 and 21: Fresh produce (semi-nonperishable: apples, oranges, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, celery) will be accepted.
Advising competition: November 13: Students will be participating in a competition between advising groups. Each advising group has been assigned one particular type of food to bring on Monday to kick off the food drive. For advising assignments, click here.
Class competition: Each class will be assigned one day during the drive to compete to collect the most donations during drop off; freshmen won last year!
Seniors: Tuesday, November 14
Juniors: Wednesday, November 15
Sophomores: Thursday, November 16
Freshmen: Friday, November 17

Turkey Tuesday

November 21: Turkey Tuesday is a community-wide challenge. Our goal is to collect 75 turkeys. Turkey donations should be dropped off before school on Tuesday, November 21st at The Circle or in front of the BBLC.

Parent Volunteers Needed: On Tuesday, November 21st, we are looking for parent volunteers to help collect, organize, package and deliver donations to the various nonprofits. I will gladly take volunteers between 10-11am and 12-1pm that day. Please contact Cheyenne Robertson ( if you're interested in helping out! Thank you!
