3D Thinking

Visual Arts students explore the emotional and expressive qualities in art to access the imagination and broaden creativity. Emphasis is placed upon acquiring strong technical skills, expressing meaning through images and developing unique creative vision.

This hands-on interdisciplinary course merges visual art, design, technology, and making. Students are shown how to observe, analyze, interpret, and respond to solving problems three-dimensionally. Experimentation and critical thinking are applied to design and construction techniques, and process is presented as important as product. No prior knowledge of construction techniques is required—just a willingness to try new things and learn from successes as well as failures in completing class projects.
