Whether you attend a full-day student visit, a regional event, or an Open House, every interaction at Marin Academy is intentionally designed to give you a sense of our community and to help you determine if MA is the right fit for you and your family.

Walk MA's beautiful, ten-acre campus in the heart of San Rafael—the oldest, largest, and most diverse city in Marin County. MA is not a gated community or a school on the hill. We sit 13 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, where our campus is woven right into the neighborhood around us. Students step off campus as easily as they step into it, joining a joyful, inclusive community whose impact reaches well beyond it.

Campus Tour

Tours are typically forty-five minutes with a student ambassador or a member of the Admissions team. This is a good option if a full visit day is hard to schedule or if you want to see the campus on your own terms first. To schedule one, first fill out the MA Preliminary Form in Ravenna Hub, then email us at admissions@ma.org. Availability may be limited. Bring the whole family.

How do students get to MA?

26% of MA students live outside Marin County, and almost nobody drives alone. MA transportation routes serve San Francisco, the East Bay, and North Marin, with stops at the SMART Train and San Rafael Transit Center, plus late-p.m. service for athletics, rehearsals, and studio time.

SF Route 1 (Marin 1) — Cow Palace → Filbert St. corridor → Mill Valley → MA. Departs 7:00 a.m., arrives 8:30 a.m. Full a.m., p.m., and late-p.m. service.
SF Route 2 (Marin 2) — Sunset and Inner Richmond — Quintara, Kirkham, Jackson St. Transfers to Marin 1 in Mill Valley.
East Bay Route (Marin 3) — Berkeley (The Circle / Marin Ave.), El Cerrito Plaza and Del Norte BART. Departs 7:05 a.m., arrives 8:20 a.m.
North Bay Shuttle — Miller Creek Rd., Los Ranchitos, and the San Rafael SMART Station — on campus by 8:30 a.m.
Late-PM Service — 5:45 p.m. departures on Marin 1 and Marin 3, for students staying through practice or rehearsal.

$6.00 per one-way trip on all routes, and free from the San Rafael SMART Station. For families receiving Tuition Assistance, transportation cost is adjusted by the same award percentage as tuition. Routes shift each year based on family needs.
