Employment
Working at Marin Academy is a rewarding and invigorating experience. Whether teaching, coaching, or staffing an office, adults at MA work with students and colleagues who are compassionate, intellectually curious, dedicated, and care deeply about the school.
We are a co-educational independent high school of 445 students and approximately 60 faculty. The course curriculum is varied and deep, and our teachers enjoy teaching students at all grade levels. Our co-curricular program is incredibly strong with opportunities abounding in athletics, the arts, student-led groups, and outings. In addition we have a week of "Minicourse" in the spring semester where students and teachers take a week away from the classroom to focus on experiential learning in a non-traditional setting.
Working at Marin Academy
MA is a vibrant and diverse community, and students and employees alike continue to work towards the furthering of an inclusive and supportive school. Marin Academy is an equal opportunity employer and people of color and women are encouraged to apply for open positions. Salary and benefits are very competitive.
Full-time teachers teach four classes, advise a group of students, commit to a school "service" (work with a student club, lead an initiative on campus, etc.), and take an active role in the life of the school. Our teachers are passionate about their subject areas and about working with high school students. Marin Academy's block schedule (classes meet every other day for 75 minutes) requires teachers to be creative and thoughtful in pedagogy and content.
Professional Development
Professional development opportunities are readily available. Teaching positions will typically be posted in the winter and spring for openings that begin in August.
