50th Anniversary Conference on Democracy:

Democracy in the Digital Age

We receive most, if not all of our information through some form of media, be it arts media, news media, or social media. This years' nineteenth annual Conference of Democracy will examine how various media influence perceptions, beliefs, and actions in our democracy. Around the globe, as media becomes more "democratic" in its accessibility, it inherently creates greater opportunities for manipulation of information and the propagation of multiple "truths." More relevant than ever in an era of fake news, convoluted political atmospheres, and inflammatory digital exchanges, understanding the impact of media-both its positive and negative forces and consequences-is essential to advance our society in an enlightened, democratic manner.
