We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Christine Carter, a highly sought-after speaker and fellow MA parent, back to the Parent Ed speaker series! Drawing on psychology, sociology and neuroscience, Dr. Carter will share practical tips for nurturing both achievement and happiness in teenagers today. Her presentation will cover:

  • how technology and social media are undermining our kids' focus and what we can do to help
  • how to increase our teens' tolerance for discomfort and disappointment so they can better rise to challenges
  • how to focus on our teens' strengths rather than helping them compensate for weaknesses
  • how to help teens combat feelings of entitlement, self-centeredness, and anxiety
Dr. Christine Carter, PhD, writes the award-winning blog, Brave Over Perfect, and is syndicated on the Greater Good, Huffington Post, and She is the author of Raising Happiness and The Sweet Spot: How to Achieve More By Doing Less, and is a Senior Fellow at the Greater Good Science Center, UC Berkeley. Click here for a link to a recent article by Dr. Carter, published in US News.
