Work Requests and Housekeeping
WORK REQUESTS
We ask that you submit repair requests on work order forms. Click HERE to fill out a Work Order Form online. Click HERE to download and print a Work Order Form.
Work orders that contain requests that are unusually large or costly will be returned, and you will be asked to resubmit your request in the spring. These work orders will be considered for inclusion in the following summer’s work schedule.
Requests that include the repair, rental, or purchase of special equipment or electronics may be charged to your department’s budget, so please, carefully discuss all requests with your Head of Department.
Voice mail requests will be accepted for emergencies only.
HOUSEKEEPING
Janitorial services are provided by Building Care Systems, an outside vender. Any requests for additional service should be directed to the Director of Facilities, Operations, and Outside Services, not to individual employees of Building Care Systems.
The faculty work rooms and offices should not be considered as a collection spot for unwanted items. We will notify you when a periodic sweep will be made through these spaces and abandoned articles will be disposed of.
Do not paint walls. Do not use nails, staples, or wall anchors. Many of our classrooms are newly refurbished so please feel free to use the bulletin boards (pushpins only) to hang posters or art work. If you have any questions as to what is, or is not, acceptable, please contact the Director of Facilities, Operations, and Outside Services.
Many of our building entrances have clear plastic notice boards specifically placed for the posting of general notices. Please do not tape notices to door glass, walls, or painted surfaces.
Do not leave unwanted articles in the hallways. If you have items that you want to discard, there are several garbage and recycling cans around campus. For larger items, a debris box is located at the Fifth Avenue end of the Library Building
