Facilities Use

A Facilities Use Form must be submitted by groups seeking after-hours use of any on campus space. Forms are located HERE.

Forms must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the event. A proposal may also be submitted along with your application. Your application will be reviewed by the Director of Operations. Chaperones must be regular full time employees of the school or members of the Board of Trustees. If approved, you will be required to enter into a rental agreement with the school and obtain insurance.

Insurance Requirement
Groups using the school’s facilities are required to maintain and provide evidence of public liability and property damage insurance with a single combined limit of $1 million, and property damage limits of not less than $1 million. All user groups must provide a Certificate of Insurance to the school showing coverage of $1 million and include Marin Academy as an Additional Named Insured during the use period.

Policy for Student Use of Teaching Spaces after School Hours
Marin Academy recognizes the importance of providing student access to campus facilities to promote learning and skill development. The school is also compelled to provide facilities that are safe and adequately supervised. The following policies apply to student use of indoor classrooms and athletic spaces at Marin Academy:

Weekdays during School Hours
Students shall request or schedule use of indoor space with the appropriate faculty member or administrator in advance of using the space. The appropriate faculty member shall be present in the building or department complex while students are using the indoor space.

Weekdays after School Hours
Students shall request or schedule use of indoor space with the appropriate faculty member and the Director of Facilities, Operations and Outside Services in advance of using the space. The appropriate faculty member shall be present in the building or department complex while students are using the indoor space. The appropriate faculty member is responsible for clearing and locking the space when students are finished or when the faculty member must leave the premises (building or department complex).

Weekends
As above, however, the appropriate faculty member shall be present in an active supervisory role, in the building, and accountable for all student actions and activities.
