Welcome all new parents to Marin Academy, and also welcome back returning families. We hope this school year is going well for you and your child. The mission of Parents of Students of Color is to create a sense of community and connection among POSOCs, and to provide access to discussions, tools, other resources that are of interest to POSOCs. We also offer a voice for this group with the MA administration, Diversity Council, and the MAPA board.

Upcoming Event: Family Norms: Different Considerations for POSOC vs. non-POSOC?
Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 pm in the MA Cafe
We will discuss "Family Norms: Are there different considerations for Parents of Students of Color?" We will select a few topics for a facilitated exploration of family norms, which are the expectations and rules that guide the behavior of family members in any given situation. We accept that norms vary widely across cultural groups—but what is the cultural group of your MA student? How much do family norms differ from one MA family to the next? We hope you can join us!
