For those of you new to the MA community, here's a brief description of the Marin Academy Parent Association (MAPA):
MAPA is responsible for encouraging, organizing, and directing volunteer activities that enhance school life for students, faculty, staff, parents, and the larger community. Through the direction of the Parent Board officers and committee chairs, a variety of activities, functions, and educational programs are offered in our community, all for the purpose of supporting the students, expanding understandings, and sharing the vision of Marin Academy in concert with the policies of the Board of Trustees.
Hundreds of hours of time and talent are committed to Marin Academy every year by volunteer parents and, due to the diversity of activities and functions we provide, there is an opportunity for every parent to be involved.
In addition, MAPA also hosts functions for parents including potluck dinners and other class get-togethers. MAPA hosts parent education evenings, featuring either MA faculty and staff or recognized experts in our larger learning community. Meeting dates and times are posted on MA's web site and reminders will be provided in school emails and published in the school newsletter, The Wildcatter, prior to events.
