The Marin Academy Library's mission is to promote and facilitate thinking, questioning, and creating. The library staff seeks to do this by:
- thoughtfully uniting community members with a wide variety of information resources;
- actively collaborating with faculty about teaching pedagogies;
- strategically encouraging information literacy, the enjoyment of reading and the freedom of expression.
The Library Building opened in June 2006. This 16,000 square foot building includes:
- eight classrooms
- one science lab/classroom
- study room
- seminar room
- librarian's office
- archive room
- reading and reference areas
All teaching spaces have SmartBox AV technology, dedicated video projectors and wireless internet access.
The library’s resources include 13,000 volumes of books and audio-visual materials; subscriptions to over 75 magazines, periodicals and newspapers; access to seven on-line databases and a professionally trained staff.
