Marin Academy is blessed with a talented and dynamic faculty. They are devoted to excellence in teaching and at the same time, are writers, artists, scientists and coaches, dedicated to their fields. More than half of MA’s teachers hold advanced degrees.

Throughout the curriculum, teachers urge students to try, to explore, to risk and to work hard. An average class size of 15 and a nine-to-one student/teacher ratio ensures a meaningful relationship between students and teachers. MA’s six-day, 80-minute period schedule enables teachers and students to cover material in an interdisciplinary manner, and more completely and effectively in each class.

MA faculty have an open-door policy for students who desire extra help with a class. Teachers are available during Tutorial, a dedicated period for faculty/student meetings, held three times a week. The faculty at MA are integral to the open climate that prevails on campus, which fosters an open, friendly community. For MA students, their teachers are educators, role models and mentors.
