Board of Trustees

The role of the Board of Trustees is to be the guardian of the school's mission. It is the Board's responsibility to ensure that the mission is appropriate, relevant and vital to the Marin Academy community. The Board tracks and monitors the school's progress toward fulfilling its mission.

The Board plans for the future of the school, and ensures that Marin Academy has financial and leadership resources to achieve its strategic plans. In addition, the Board is responsible for selecting, supporting, and evaluating the Head of School. The Board is composed of representatives of the Marin Academy community and other community leaders who bring specific skills and perspectives to the deliberations involved in setting strategic policy for planning for Marin Academy. Board members do not serve to represent particular agendas or factions, nor does the Board have any involvement in the day-to-day operations of the School.
